How does “extended release” work?
All ingredients are mixed together with a fibrous ingredient and compressed to form a tablet. After swallowing, the tablet becomes wetted in the stomach and the fibrous ingredient expands to form a network. The wetted tablet gradually releases key ingredients by controlled diffusion through the network as it passes the length of the small intestine. The nutrient release rate from the tablet is slow and steady with the wetted tablet gradually decreasing in size until it is completely dissolved.

Why isn't NUTRILITE Kids Chewable C an extended release product?
NUTRILITE Kids Chewable C tablets contain relatively small doses of vitamin C - about 30 mg vitamin C. Small doses of vitamin C are utilized very efficiently by the body. Since there is little waste, an extended release feature is not necessary.

In addition, these chewable tablets are often used by children under 12 years of age. A chewable tablet form negates the value an extended release feature would offer.
